Tweeting for the Big Bucks

As a recent college grad, I know firsthand how frustrating the whole job hunting process can be, especially when it comes to salary negotiations.  So imagine my surprise when I saw a headline promising a six-figure salary for a position at MTV in New York City.  Too good to be true, right?  The popular entertainment company is apparently in search of a TJ or “Twitter Jockey” — a social media guru to relay messages to MTV’s audience and keep the executives up to date with the latest trends.  You can check out all the action on Follow Me: The Search for the First MTV TJ and even vote for your favorite candidates.  Think you can be wittier in 140 characters or less?  Nominate yourself!  I mean, it’s a bit counter-productive to self-nominate for a contest that requires some social prowess and popularity, but what the heck THIS IS AMERICA.  It’s not like you’d be the first unqualified person to be voted in (cough cough Alvin Greene).

Maybe I can make some money off of Twitter too?
